The Mill-Man Trail combines sporting challenges with scenic diversity: spectacular rock formations, steep climbs, technical descents and narrow single trails characterise the route. There are three different circuits on offer, measuring 43, 72 and 100 kilometres in length, which lead through the heart of the Mëllerdall Nature and Geopark.
Although the Mill-Man-Trail is firmly established in the mountain biking calendar of the Greater Region, in 2025 we not only offered the tried and tested challenges for mountain bikers, but also organised an exciting premiere for gravel bikers. There were two additional routes of 56 and 81 kilometres through the Mullerthal to choose from.

From idea to cult event

The first edition of the Mill-Man-Trail took place on 22 April 2012. At that time, almost 250 mountain bikers from Luxembourg and neighbouring countries took part. The MMT developed rapidly in its early years: participant numbers grew steadily, making the event one of the largest mountain bike gatherings in the region. Until the pandemic-related break, the Mill-Man-Trail reached record levels with up to 2.000 participants.

The Mill-Man-Trail combines sporting challenges with scenic diversity: spectacular rock formations, steep climbs, technical descents and narrow single trails characterise the route. There are three different circuits on offer, measuring 40, 70 and 100 kilometres in length, which lead through the heart of the Mëllerdall Nature and Geopark.

Even though the Mill-Man-Trail is firmly established in the mountain biking calendar of the greater region, in 2025 we not only offered the tried-and-tested challenges for mountain bikers, but also organised an exciting premiere for gravel bikers. There were two additional routes of 40 and 80 kilometres through the Mullerthal to choose from.

As another first, we are also focusing on increased environmental protection at and along the routes of the Mill-Man-Trail 2025. After intensive preparations, we were able to hold the event under the ‘Green Event’ label for the first time. The checklist for a ‘Green Event’ includes not only measures to prevent waste, but also guidelines in the areas of communication & marketing, decoration & equipment, mobility, food & beverages, water & sanitation, energy and ecological commitment throughout the entire organisation.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our special thanks to the numerous helpers who assisted during the preparation phase and on the weekend of the event. Without their commitment and the support of our sponsors, it would not be possible to successfully organise such events, which offer cyclists from Luxembourg, France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands unique and unforgettable experiences on the trails in the Mëllerdall.
